Montana Student Volunteer Award

This award recognizes college student volunteers across the state who have dedicated their efforts to serving the community while pursuing college. Recipients are recognized with a certificate from the Governor’s Office at a prominent campus event and a virtual recognition in the spring.

NOMINEE CRITERIA:

• Students must be enrolled at an MCNCE affiliate institution.

• Students must have recent volunteer experience within Montana and/or through their college.

• Students must be willing to receive the award at an agreed-upon campus event (virtual, sporting, or otherwise).

• The Governor’s staff will review the selected nominees. If the nominee does not meet the review criteria, another will be selected.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

• This award honors your institution's top student volunteer this academic year; please share this with your campus's CEO.

• Following a local conversation and decision about which student to honor, please submit one nomination per campus.

• An administrator, staff, or faculty member must complete submissions.

• Submit the completed nomination form and a digital photo of the student by the deadline (below).

NOMINATION & AWARD PROCESS:

• Nominations must be submitted by Friday, March 14, 2025, at 5 PM (MT).

• MCNCE co-presents this award with the Governor's Office of Community Service.

• Once the Governor’s staff has reviewed the nominations, they will notify MCNCE and mail the award certificate to the campus for the CEO's signature.

• MCNCE co-hosts (with the Governor's Office of Community Service) a recognition ceremony; students and nominators should plan to attend.

• Once the certificate is received locally, the nominator or campus representative will coordinate with the Student Volunteer Award recipient to determine an appropriate campus event for the award presentation; this can be part of year-end events, sporting events, etc.

• Once the nominator or campus representative determines a local presentation method for the event, if possible. We encourage co-presenting with a Campus Compact Board or CEO Council and Advisory Committee member. The presenter can be the nominator, another campus representative, campus CEO, and/or other staff or faculty member(s).

• The award ceremony will be held via Zoom in April 2025 (date to be determined). Nominators and students are highly encouraged to attend.
